Anyone who watched Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden's wedding will be in no doubt of the couple's feelings for each other. Arriving at the nuptial banquet, she thanked the Swedish people for giving her her prince. He, meanwhile, gave a heart-warming speech, in which he told his bride: "I love you Victoria and I am proud of what we have together and so happy to be your husband. "I will do all I can for you to be as happy as you are today." And what satisfaction the country's citizens must have in seeing the positive effect marriage has had on the princess, who does indeed radiate happiness at all times. At a recent historic event the newlyweds appeared as if they were wrapped up in a world of their own. All the while honouring their commitments at an important engagement as they welcomed Denmark's Queen Margrethe to Sweden. Sharing tender glances and the occasional giggle, hands clasped in each other's, the couple couldn't have looked more in love. At one point Victoria appeared to straighten her husband's tie, getting a thumbs-up in return. The occasion was the 200th anniversary of the House of Bernadotte – the dynasty that has reigned in Sweden since 1810. The bicentenary commemorates a curious but crucial episode in the two Scandinavian countries' histories, when Jean Baptiste Bernadotte, a lieutenant of Napoleon, was elected crown prince of Sweden. He was adopted by the former king, who had no heir, later ruling as Carl XIV Johan and annexing neighbouring Norway as well.

[Fashion] Tatiana's wedding gown

A ravishing blonde in the mould of Grace Kelly, Prince Nikolaos of Greece's wife Tatiana didn't need much to look special. But her gown, a traditional yet sophisticated design from New York-based Venezuelan maestro Angel Sanchez, transformed her into a truly radiant bride, drawing gasps from onlookers as she arrived by horse-drawn carriage. Created from 40 metres of French Chantilly lace, the strapless dress featured a moulded bodice that showed off her slender waist, before falling to her feet and finishing in a sweeping train. Luckily, the designer was on hand personally to help her down and arrange her full-length veil. Covering her shoulders was a bolero in the same material that she took off for the reception. Her honey blonde locks had been fashioned into elaborate coils at the nape of her neck. The chic hairdo set off a tiara she'd been lent by her mother-in-law, Queen Anne-Marie. A family heirloom, the magnificent headpiece was also worn by Crown Prince Pavlov's wife Marie-Chantal at their 1995 wedding. It started life as a brooch that belonged to Queen Victoria of Sweden's daughter Ingrid, who married into the Danish royal family in 1935. Queen Ingrid then bequeathed the piece to her daughter Anne-Marie. Completing the fairytale look was a pair of diamond drop earrings. With such eye-catching jewellery, Tatiana wisely kept her make-up simple and accessorised with that unmistakeable sign of a newlywed – a dazzling smile.

Nikolaos and Tatiana's wedding: a little and last post to summarize it all!

As the sun dipped low over the hills on the picturesque island of Spetses, Prince Nikolaos of Greece, for years one of Europe's most eligible bachelors, promised to love and honour events planner Tatiana Blatnik in a ceremony that mixed pomp with traditional touches. A cheer went up from the crowd as Nikolaos, 40, the third of King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie's five children, arrived at the whitewashed monastery of Ayios Nikolaos, flanked by his mother. Constantine was deposed in 1974 – but it was clear from the hundreds of enthusiastic well wishers clamouring to greet the groom that the family still has a hold on the public imagination. Also lending an aura of royal glamour to the occasion was the dazzling array of distinguished guests, decked out in full evening attire. Expectant Princess Mary, her blossoming figure swathed in a pretty patterned gown, represented the Danish royal family, along with her mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe, who is Anne-Marie's sister – making her the groom's aunt. Nikolaos' aunt on his father's side, Queen Sofia of Spain attended with her children. Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and her new husband Prince Daniel, just back from their own honeymoon a few weeks ago were also in the congregation. Of course, though, the bride was the one everyone wanted to see. Sweeping up to the monastery in the horse-drawn carriage customary on the island, Tatiana, who works for Diane von Furstenberg, more than lived up to the expectations. Every inch the princess, Nikolaos' bride was breathtaking in an ivory Angel Sanchez gown with a chantilly lace overlay, teamed with a matching bolero and full-length veil. Completing the regal but feminine look was a pair of diamond drop earrings and the antique corsage tiara, lent by her new mother-in-law. Since her own father sadly passed away when she was small, the 29-year-old was escorted up the aisle by her stepfather Attilio Brillembourg. Once inside the elegant blonde received a wedding band to complement a stunning engagement ring, topped with a sapphire that was given to Nikolaos by his mother, who received it from her own parents, King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark. Having arrived Ms Tatiana Blatnik she left HRH Princess Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark. But the applause that rang out from the throngs when she received a passionate kiss from her groom appeared to be prompted as much by the sight of a couple deeply in love as by thoughts of their status.

Prince Daniel looking relaxed in new royal role on first post-honeymoon appointment

It was his first official appearance as Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland. But Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden's new husband looked like a complete pro. Relaxed and smiling, he waved at crowds as he joined the rest of the Swedish royal family in celebrating 200 years of the House of Bernadotte being on the throne. And he proved himself the perfect gentleman, holding an umbrella over his wife as they walked towards the steps of Orebro Castle, central Sweden, where they were to attend a dinner. Daniel's easy and confident manner in the spotlight is something which he has built up over time since his first official appearance with Victoria. That was in March 2009 when he accompanied the Princess – his then fiancée – to her name day celebrations. Nearly a year and a half later and Daniel is clearly settling into his new royal role after marrying the crown princess on June 19. He certainly looked like one of the family as he stood with his parents-in-law King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and brother and sister-in-law Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine for a group photograph.

When Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece wed his American heiress wife Marie-Chantal in 1995, his father King Constantine said: "It's very difficult for a father to give away his daughter, but I believe that (she) is in good hands with a good family. "Not because Pavlos is my son but because he is really a nice boy". As the Greek royals gather some 15 years later to see another 'nice boy' - the crown prince's 40-year-old brother Nikolaos - marry his sweetheart Tatiana Blatnik, his sentiments must be the same. London-based Nikolaos, a graduate of Brown University in the US, who currently works in his father's office, appeared openly emotional at the solemn step he is about to take. His excitement was mirrored by his beautiful fiancée's. Her right hand clasped in his, a megawatt smile on her face, Tatiana, 29 - an events planner for Diane von Furstenberg - already looked like the radiant bride she is sure to be on Wednesday, August 25. Around 350 distinguished guests representing Europe's most blue-blooded families will be welcomed to the island of Spetses, which is three hours away from Athens, by the king and his wife Queen Anne-Marie, along with their five children. It is not strictly a royal wedding since King Constantine was deposed in 1974 – but royal protocol is being followed by attendees. The mother of the bride, for example, was seen bobbing a curtsey, as she greeted the queen, as well as giving her a kiss. On her marriage her daughter will be styled HRH Princess Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark – Constantine is descended from the northern European country's Christian IX, allowing his family to use that title. For the ceremony in the picturesque monastery of Ayios Nikolaos Tatiana will arrive in a horse-drawn carriage. Meanwhile, groom is expected to arrive in dashing style. Escorted by police and coast guards, he will take a boat, from the nearby town or Porto Heli, to end his bachelor days.

Greek mythology holds that Agamemnon stopped there on his way back from Troy to Mycenae, seduced by 'the sweet music of this fertile isle'. In modern times Spetses, which is a three-hour boat ride from Athens, was to become a retreat for heroes, tycoons and socialites, seducing among them, Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Next week, the magical island will attract the world's attention in earnest again when 40-year-old Prince Nikolaos of Greece and his fiancée Tatiana Blatnik become man and wife. Though not a royal wedding in the strictest sense - his father King Constantine was deposed in 1974 – the nuptials are likely to be a magnificent affair, graced by many members of Europe's reigning houses. Among the guests of honour are newlyweds Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and husband Prince Daniel, who tied the knot in lavish style earlier this summer. Also attending are her siblings, Carl Philip and Madeleine. Spain's royal family will be heavily represented as the country's Queen Sofia is Constantine's sister. The groom's mother Anne Marie, meanwhile, is the sister of Queen Margrethe of Denmark. Tatiana, an ice cool blonde with ravishing cheek bones, who works for Diane von Furstenberg, is also from a distinguished family. Educated in Switzerland and the US, the 29–year-old is the granddaughter of Ellinka Countess von Einsiedel. The couple will tie the knot at sunset in the whitewashed 19th-century monastery of Ayios Nikolaos. Guests are then invited to toast their happiness during a reception overlooking the ancient harbour where the crystal waters of the Mediterranean lap Garifalo beach.
