Prince Ernst August of Hanover failed the appeal against his conviction after a beating attack in Kenya. The Fiest Criminal Division of the Higher Regional Court of Celle had the appeal against the ruling of the District Court of Hildesheim. On March 9th, 2010 it was unanimously rejected as it was found manifestly unfounded, said the Court of Appeals on Thursday. The ruling by the district court say there was no mistake in detriment of the Prince. So the verdict is final. Prince EA was sentenced to 200 000 € fine for assault. Princess Caroline's use of stylish accessories proves winning look at bloom competition

She constantly wins praise for her stylish and modern fashion choices, and it was easy to see why as Princess Caroline of Monaco visited the principality's annual bouquet competition.

The glamorous 53-year-old cut an elegant figure in a taupe green Grecian-style dress. But what really made the outfit was her carefully selected choice of accessories.

Around her neck the mum of four wore a crystal necklace – made up of what appeared to be jade and pearls . And she complemented this with gold around her wrists – in the form of masses of hooped bracelets and a delicate watch.

A straw-look summer bag and vertiginous Christian Louboutin shoes finished off the chic ensemble.

Caroline was accompanying her brother Prince Albert to the exhibition of flowers, which is in its 43rd year.

Unlike last year, there was no sign of her husband, Ernst of Hanover, however. Caroline and her husband have not been pictured together for some time.

There has been wide speculation in the press that they are on the road to divorce, after Ernst was pictured kissing another woman on the beach in Thailand. But Caroline did turn up to support her husband at his assault trial in January.

There was doubt as to whether she would show, after pictures were published of her husband with another woman in Thailand.

But Princess Caroline of Monaco finally arrived in court on Wednesday to testify on Ernst August of Hanover's behalf in his assault trial.

The Monegasque royal looked strained as she walked past photographers and entered the building in central Germany.

Ernst August, who was absent from proceedings, admits slapping a German neighbour at his holiday home on the coast at Lamu, Kenya, during an incident which took place ten years ago.

But he denies he had a metal knuckleduster on his fingers, as prosecutors are claiming.

Caroline told the court in fluent German that her husband had hit the neighbour – who owned a noisy dance club – twice "one for the music and one for the lights" but had applied "no other force".

Speculation of an imminent split between Princess Caroline of Monaco and her husband Prince Ernst August of Hanover continues to grow after the German royal was pictured allegedly kissing another woman in Thailand.

German magazine Bunte published the photos, which were taken on a beach in Phuket. They appear to show Ernst in the sea with a brunette, who has not been identified.

Caroline meanwhile is in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana with her children. This is the first Christmas the couple have spent the holidays apart.

It was first reported in September that the pair – who have not been pictured together since July - were living separate lives. The palace has always denied rumours of any split, however.

Ernst was largely absent from official duties last year – in particular his non attendance of Monaco's National Day celebrations was noted by royal watchers.

Caroline of Monaco's friend denies romance with Prince Ernst

Maryam Sachs, a family friend of Princess Caroline of Monaco, (pictured left) has denied she is romantically involved with Prince Ernst of Hanover.

Amidst reports of supposed marital problem between Caroline and her husband of ten years, Iran-born Maryam was said to be spending more time with Ernst and comforting him.

Reports also suggested that there had been a rift between Maryam and her own husband, London-based furniture designer Rolf Sachs.

Rumours of a growing relationship are "totally untrue", Maryam has confirmed. "It is just friendship."

The two couples often dine together, she adds. Princess Caroline has also denied any distance between her and her husband. Her friendship with Maryam goes back 24 years and she choose her as godmother to Alexandra, the princess' 10-year-old daughter with Ernst.
