The Life and Legacy of Princess Grace of Monaco Feted on Both Sides of the Atlantic

The late Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, was a glamorous international icon and a true humanitarian. This summer in Monaco and this fall in New York, a series of glamorous exhibits will celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of a woman who epitomized American royalty long before Paris Hilton was even a bud of a thought.
Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the passing of the Princess, activities and events marking her life and legacy this year will include an unprecedented exhibit this summer at Monaco's Grimaldi Forum followed this fall by a special tribute exhibit and a first-ever auction of some of Her personal belongings at Sotheby's New York to benefit the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, which this year also celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The Grace Kelly Years at Monaco's Grimaldi Forum explores Her life, personality, passions and legacy. Tracing a path from Philadelphia to New York to Hollywood and beyond, the exhibit was crafted by noted curator Frederic Mitterrand and exhibition designer Nathalie Criniere. Open daily from July 12 through September 23, 2007 at the 43,000-square- feet Espace Ravel in the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, The Grace Kelly Years explores the many periods and facets of the late Princess’ extraordinary life through a range of items never before displayed, including private letters, dresses and fashion accessories, sound recordings and film clips. While at the Grimaldi Forum, visitors can take the Princess Grace Promenade to discover Monaco "in the footsteps" of the Princess. This multilingual walking "trail" highlights some of the most important dates and events in Her life via a tour throughout the Principality of Monaco. In celebration of the Princess of Monaco’s life, several luxury hotels in the Principality are offering The Grace Kelly Years packages, featuring exhibit tickets, in-room VIP welcome (including newspaper, fresh fruit, flowers, and a bottle of chilled Champagne) and daily breakfast. Travelers can also expect to find exclusive U.S. dollar guaranteed packages online.
Then in the fall, Monaco takes New York as Sotheby's New York is the setting for Grace, Princess of Monaco - A Tribute Exhibit, planned for October 15 - 25, 2007. This open-to-the- public glimpse into the world of the American-born Princess will showcase the many facets of Her persona through photographs and a selection of personal items. (
