And this week Charlene Wittstock had one of her most joyous duties as the principality's next first lady - handing out gifts at a children's Christmas party at the royal palace in Monte Carlo.
Joining the attractive South African and her fiancé Prince Albert at the festive giveaway were his sisters, Princesses Caroline and Stephanie.
And it looked like seeing the excited expressions on the faces of the youngsters had warmed her heart as the royals handed out presents and sung carols.
