[Monaco] Charity Auction for World AIDS Day with Princess Stephanie, Prince Albert II & Princess Charlene

On the occasion of the World AIDS Day on Dec.1, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene joined HSH Princess Stephanie of Monaco for a charity auction.

Around 50 pieces of art, including paintings, sculptures and photography was auctioned. An exclusive picture of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene during the Royal Monaco wedding was also included in the collection.

Princess Charlene looked stunning in a knee-length black, which she paired with black stilettos and a matching clutch. This is the second time that the princess joined her sister-in-law for the annual World AIDS Day program.

Princess Stephanie is the President of the Fight AIDS Monaco and has fought passionately for the cause. Every year, the foundation holds a charity auction, the proceeds of which are used for the various programs and campaigns adopted by the Fight AIDS Monaco. Besides this, they are also used to assist poor countries like Madagascar and Haiti.

Take a look at Princess Charlene's glam looks at the annual charity auction below.

Princess Charlene of Monaco gives back to charity in South Africa

Princess Charlene of Monaco has pledged over R1 million to charity in honour of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's 80th birthday, The Giving Organisation Trust said on Thursday. Charlene informed the trust of her R1,080,000 donation on Saturday evening, said spokeswoman Lesley O'Connor.
The princess, co-patron of the Trust with Tutu, said in a statement she hoped her contribution would encourage the public and corporate sector to honour the Archbishop by donating to those in need.
The trust represents ten charities in South Africa. The donation was to be divided equally among them.
Trust chairmen Kelvin Glen said the charities deeply appreciated the princess's generosity and her continued support of the trust.

FYI, and according to xe.com, 1 million rands = 75,000 pounds / 87,000 euros / 118,000 dollars

Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary to greet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they'll visit the UNICEF supply centre in Denmark

St James's Palace have announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's next public engagement will be a trip to Denmark.
The newlywed couple will visit UNICEF’s emergency supply centre in Copenhagen on November 2 to distribute emergency food and medical supplies to East Africa.
It will be only the second official visit abroad by the couple, following their tour of Canada and the US in July, and will be the Duchess’s first trip to a foreign country specifically to carry out charity work.
William and Kate will be accompanied by Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark.
The royal couples will seek to maintain global attention on the crisis in East Africa, an area well known to The Duke and Duchess, where the situation is getting worse.
More areas are expected to be declared as ‘in famine’ over the next few months.
Currently some 320,000 children in East Africa are suffering from severe acute malnutrition and are at imminent risk of death without immediate assistance.
Clarence House said: "The Duke and Duchess have been deeply moved over the past few weeks by the desperate plight of hundreds of thousands of seriously ill children in East Africa, a part of the world they know well and which is dear to them.
"Going to Copenhagen to view the supplies heading out to the famine zones was their idea as they are very troubled by the situation.
"The British public have already been very generous, but the royal couple wish to do what they can to help to help maintain global attention on the worsening situation."

[United Kingdom] [VIDEO] The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended ARK charity gala dinner last week

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have attended their first official engagement as a married couple.

Husband and wife topped a star-studded guest list on Thursday evening to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) charity.

It was the Duchess' debut public outing as a member of the royal family.
Here with Arpad Busson

She brought her usual touch of elegance to proceedings in a sparkling £4,000 blush–coloured Jenny Packham gown, which she accessorised with LK Bennett shoes and a clutch bag.

Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, his wife Princess Marie-Chantal and their daughter Maria-Olympia also attended.

It was then time for William to make his address, during which he announced that Kate had joined him and his brother Harry as a patron of their foundation, which raises money for causes linked to young people around the world.

He also joked about relaying the evening's events to the Queen.

[Monaco] The very busy days Charlene Wittstock has been having prior to wedding

Despite what one can safely assume are feverish preparations for her wedding to Prince Albert of Monaco next month, Charlene Wittstock is still busy with her charity work.

The former champion swimmer lent her star power to a charity catwalk show in aid of the Special Olympics, the movement which celebrates athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Charlene, a global ambassador for the cause, radiated enthusiasm as she held hands with two special young people at the Amber Lounge fashion show, and their joyous smiles told their own story.

Greeting Michael Schumacher

Charity work has always played a major role in Charlene’s life, including teaching swimming and giving motivational talks in her homeland South Africa.

In February, the kind-hearted blonde even returned to her native land to take part a sponsored swim for disabled Olympians.

However, new responsibilities beckon in Monaco and the 33-year-old has great plans for the future.

She wants to transform the principality's reputation as an enclave for jetsetters and the über-rich, showing the world that it can be influential in charitable causes.

This devotion to mentoring disabled athletes was very much in evidence later that evening, when Charlene escorted the two young adults to a party aboard a luxury superyacht.

The glamazon was genuinely attentive to her special guests, giving them a taste of the high life and introducing them to inspirational figures such as Formula 1 racing driver Michael Schumacher, with her arm around their shoulders.

And they will surely cherish their memories of a princess-in-waiting who found time for them amidst the demands of the celebrity attendees.
Princess Beatrice and boyfriend Dave Clark also attended

Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock shine at annual AmFar Gala

He has a well-known connection to Hollywood through his late mother Grace Kelly. So, for Prince Albert, a night mingling with the toast of Tinsletown provided the perfect setting for some fun and frivolity. The Monagasque royal attended the annual Amfar gala in Cannes accompanied by his elegant bride-to-be Charlene Wittstock.
Shoulder to shoulder with the cream of Hollywood, the betrothed couple were happy and relaxed as they partied together at the star-studded event.

Monaco's future princess looked radiant in a dove grey Giorgio Armani gown that complemented her delicate features and porcelain skin.
She has frequently been compared to Princess Grace, who lit up silver screens in the 1950s, exuding the glamour and poise associated with the golden age of cinema.
With less than two months to go until their big day, Charlene and Albert had every reason to celebrate at the gala evening.
Charlene was in a playful mood, giggling frequently throughout the event as she chatted to fellow invitees, including Naomi Campbell and Albert's niece Charlotte Casiraghi, who whom she clearly has a close friendship.
And her demeanour evidently rubbed off on her prince, who danced alongside her during one of the evening's musical performances.
It wasn’t just the couple's fancy footwork made evident at the charity event - so too was their generosity.
Top lot at the night's famous auction was the chance to play tennis with Prince Albert, for which a bidder paid 500,000 euros.
And former Olympian swimmer Charlene raised the same amount with an impromptu offer of a private swimming lesson, taking the royal pair's total contribution to the gala to one million euros.
The tactile 33-year-old, who stayed close to her prince throughout the evening, also placed the winning 60,000 euro bid on Moet & Chandon's Nebuchadnezzar Champagne in a gold-leafed bottle.

Queen Silvia of Sweden travels to Brazil and meets President Dilma Rousseff

Queen Silvia of Sweden is traveling at the moment to her mother Alice Sommerlath's homeland: Brazil. She met Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff at the Palace of Planalto and both had a lot to talk about in terms of cooperation. They also talked about the World Childhood Foundation, founded by the Queen to come in hand to children in need. I wonder if they talked in Portuguese or not, as I do not know if the Queen is a fluent Portuguese speaker.

[United Kingdom] The hat that will help save the world

As she arrived to Westminster Abbey, her hat came as a surprise to her family and to the rest of the world. William and Catherine have been married for more than half a month, but "that" hat is still buzzing. Princess Beatrice, the proud owner of it, had the idea of making an auction out of it. Half the proceeds will go to UNICEF. The other half will go to Children in Crisis. Truth is that one week away from the end of the eBay auction, there have been 42 bids, reaching the astounding amount of 10,900£ ($17,650.00). We will keep you posted next week on the final amount. The future owner will have the hat - a Philip Treacy creation - shipped directly from Buckingham Palace. To know more about Princess Beatrice's Little Bee Initiative, click here.

[United Kingdom] The Duchess of Cornwall in post-wedding visit to Sheffield

The Duchess of Cornwall was in Sheffield with memories of the William and Kate royal wedding celebrations fresh in the mind.
Her itinerary started at Emmaus Primary, a joint Catholic and Church of England faith school on the Wybourn estate, where the bunting was still up.
Headteacher Huw Thomas said: “We couldn’t have asked for better timing, with the royal wedding last Friday and then our own event today. The children watched the wedding Friday, saw the Duchess arrive at the Abbey, then today they see her in person. It also meant we could keep the flags up for a few more days!”

FIVE days after mixing with the great and the good at the royal wedding, the Duchess of Cornwall was in Sheffield with an itinerary that included meeting some of the city’s homeless men and women.
Camilla visited at a charity shop run by Emmaus UK in Cadman Street, Attercliffe, part of a project that offers accommodation and work in a supportive environment, meeting volunteers and the ‘companions’ who use the facilities.
One of them asked her what she bought Prince William for a wedding gift, to be told that it was “ a bit of wildlife”, without elaborating.
Martin Davies, who chairs Emmaus, said: “It was an honour to have such a visit because the duchess is our patron.
“It’s very nice that with a busy schedule she took time out to come and talk to the staff and companions about the issues of homelessness and about the strains that homelessness brings, particularly for young people.”
The royal guest clearly had an eye for a bargain, picking up two small teapots for 50p each.
She started her day in Sheffield at Emmaus Primary on the Wybourn estate, one of the first in the country to be a joint Catholic and Church of England faith school. The school has 310 children – a quarter from ethnic minority groups.
The duchess met staff, pupils and student volunteers from Sheffield University’s linguistics society who run an after-school literacy and language project called Word Club.
Children gave an energetic and word-perfect performance of We’re Going On A Bear Hunt – described by the duchess as “brilliant” – and there was a performance by the university’s Hip Hop Dance Society.
Headteacher Huw Thomas said: “As well as being a great way of celebrating the school’s achievements, this visit is recognition of the effective partnership the school has made with our university.”
It was on to the Northern General Hospital where Camilla opened the £2m Centre for Biomedical Research, meeting world-renowned experts in the treatment of osteoporosis and cardiac conditions.
She is president of the National Osteoporosis Society, her mother having died of the disease in 1997.
The centre is the result of a partnership between Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and the University of Sheffield.
Her final stop was at the Fox Hill and Parson Cross Advice Service in Wordsworth Avenue, which provides free, impartial and confidential advice on welfare benefit, housing, debt, consumer and employment issues.
This year alone, the service dealt with more than 2,000 clients and brought in £1.8m in unclaimed benefit and debt write-offs.
Volunteers are provided with free training to become qualified advisers.

[United-Kingdom] Photos from Prince William and Kate Middleton's last public engagement before wedding

To check out the video of this event and my comments, click here.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were caught in a torrential downpour this week as they arrived in Lancashire on their last public engagement before their wedding.
But not even the inclement British weather could dampen the sunny mood of the crowds who waited to greet them.
There were cheers as the couple arrived, with Kate sheltering under an umbrella. Some members of the crowd even waved flags bearing pictures of the royal sweethearts.
She's been experimenting lately with her look, stepping out in vibrant red and the super chic Burberry trench, which sold out on the firm's website in a day.
But Kate was back in her tried and tested hue this week, stepping out in navy blue.
The future Princess looked elegant in a simple jacket and skirt as the couple arrived to open the Community Darwen Aldridge Academy.
What stood out was her hair. Usually tumbling down her back in gentle waves, this time it was partly pinned back, drawing attention to her cheekbones and a pair of delicate gold earrings.
While they're in town, the couple will also launch the SkillForce Prince's Award.
The prize will honour teenagers who "show significant character or make major contribution to the community".
Tens of thousands of well-wishers were expected to gather at Witton Park to welcome the couple, but the weather cut the numbers down significantly.
There William will sign a deed to protect the park and perhaps even have a kick-around when he meets a group taking part in a football skills training programme involving Blackburn Rovers.
