Can you guess which royal couple this is? - The answer

First of all, I would like to wish you all a very happy, bright and fulfilled 2011 with many joys and lavish weddings (we will have some in the next months, do not worry).
Second of all, we are sorry we could not update the blog as soon as expected in the past few weeks but normal programming will resume in future days.
Ah, and as I asked last month, can you guess which couple this was... well... it was lovely spanish Crown Prince Felipe and wife Crown Princess Letizia. Little signs of affection do not hurt, do they?
Cheers!

Which royals would you like to see more on Royalty Online?

Which royals would you like to see more (or less?) on RO?

I run this blog because I love royalty but I would need a little feedback, IF POSSIBLE, to know who are your favorite royals to watch out for?

Do people dislike monarchies for financial reasons only?

As I was reading a comment left by a reader about this post, stating that Liechtenstein's head of state, Hans-Adam doesn't receive a dime for his official work (thanks for the information!), I was reminded of many posts and forums that I read throughout the internet lately, where people show a huge dislike towards monarchies. One of the first reasons is that it isn't democratic (as if they had that much power left anyways) and the main reason is beheld by taxpayers, who feel they are the one paying for all those trips, those weddings, those sailing competitions, those dresses, those haircuts. A Belgian friend of mine dislikes her royalty very much, finding them quite useless but agrees to say that they are a symbol of unity in her very split country and that they are less expensive than having a system with change of presidency every 5 years.

So, what gives?
Are monarchies that bad, that shallow, that expensive?

Question: what is the relationship between Queen Noor and King Abdullah & Queen Rania?

What is the relationship between Queen Noor and her step-son, King Abdullah and his wife, Queen Rania?

I know that this is just speculation, but I haven't seen both queens standing together in an official event since 2004, both for Hamzah's wedding and Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia's wedding. And I had forgotten about this question that I sometimes asked myself, but I just looked into Queen Noor's profile on Twitter and she didn't address Queen Rania any official/public happy birthday wishes for the young queen's 40th birthday nor do they follow each other. I know it's just Twitter. But I follow my brothers and friends on twitter, even if it could be only out of courtesy. So, what do you think? Do they speak, have a private and nice relationship or is the family ripped apart?

*sorry for the bad quality in the chosen photo but it isn't as if we had a lot to choose from.
