[Belgium] Princess Mathilde's sister Hélène d'Udekem d'Acoz's wedding

A few days ago (more or less like... two weeks ago), I had shown you a picture of Princess Mathilde at her sister's wedding. The Duchess of Brabant is the oldest of five children. She has three younger sisters and one younger brother: late Jonkvrouw Marie-Alix d'Udekem d'Acoz (born 16 September 1974 - April, 1997), Margravine Elisabeth von Pallavicini, née Countess d'Udekem d'Acoz (born 17 January 1977) who is married to Margrave Alfonso von Pallavicini with whom she has 2 children, Margravine Olympia and Margrave Adalberto, Baroness Hélene Janssen, née Countess d'Udekem d'Acoz (born 22 September 1979) who is married to Baron Nicolas Janssen, and Count Charles-Henri d'Udekem d'Acoz (born 13 May 1985).

The ceremony took place in the church of Saint Pierre in the municipality of Bastogne in Belgium and the four children of Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde were the pageboys and bridesmaids.

The bride arrived at the church of Saint Pierre, in the Belgian town of Bastogne, at the arm of her younger brother, Count Charles-Henri d'Udekem d'Acoz because their father, Count Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz died two and half years ago at the age of 72 years. Countess Helene d'Udekem d'Acoz wore a beautiful lace dress with short sleeves, a V-neckline and an embroidered veil while the groom opted for an elegant tuxedo.

Princess Matilde dressed for the occasion a beautiful dress in tone nude boat neckline lace applications. He combined with a matching turban, a small clutch and shoes in two shades of pink. Meanwhile, Prince Philippe was wearing a traditional tuxedo.

Queen Fabiola, King Albert and Queen Paola also attended.

Although a few months ago rumors sprang from the Prince Laurent would stop being invited to the official activities of the Royal Family, the communion of his daughter was a very special and unique opportunity that could not miss and it looks that their assistance is intended to refute the information which echoed some Belgian media.

Austrian archduchess weds her count in fairytale ceremony

Archdukes, princesses and even a queen featured on the illustrious guest list when Archduchess Marie-Christine wed Count Rodolphe of Limburg-Stirum on December 6. The Belgian town of Mechelen came to a standstill as the bluebloods and aristocrats, including the heir to the country's throne, Prince Philippe, and his 80-year-old aunt, Queen Fabiola, arrived to see two of Europe's most noble families united. As the bride swept up the steps of 15th-century Saint-Rombout Cathedral on the arm of her father Archduke Carl Christian of Austria, liveried guards stood to attention on either side of her. Marie-Christine - whose mother Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg is the sister of ruling Grand Duke Henri - looked radiant in an ivory lace affair, featuring a satin overlay and fur-edged sleeves, with an antique lace veil. Completing her look was a jewel-encrusted tiara lent to her by the groom's family, and diamond drop earrings.

The attractive English boarding school-educated bride also carried a bouquet of pale yellow roses interspersed with white and blue blossoms. After the joyous Catholic ceremony, which was preceded by a civil service in the town hall, the handsome couple delighted by onlookers by sharing their first married kiss.

Queen Fabiola of Belgium talks about being unable to bear children

When Queen Fabiola of Belgium, 79, married King Baudouin, in 1960, it was not a secret to anyone that they had high hopes to have many children for future heirs of the throne. After several years, the question was — why weren’t any children’s footsteps being heard in the palace?
Now, for the first time, the Queen herself admits that every time she was expecting, unfortunately each pregnancy would end in a miscarriage. While each pregnancy was extremely difficult and caused the Queen such frustration, she says she tried to keep the same outlook on life: That it ‘is beautiful.’
I lost five children, but I’ve learned to live with it. On the contrary, you learn from the experience. I had problems with each pregnancy, but in the end I kept thinking that life is beautiful.
The hardest thing for the Queen was that each time her pregnancy was announced, hundreds of flowers and cards would arrive to the palace, but in the end, there would be no baby. During this time, while the Queen remained quiet, King Baudouin made a public statement about their losses.
We have asked ourselves why we feel this pain: little by little we have begun to understand that this way, our hearts will be even more free to love all the children, every single one.
King Baudouin passed away in 1993.
