Infanta Elena of Spain reaches out to help Colombians in need after floods
King Juan Carlos I's older daughter, Infanta Elena traveled last week to Colombia. She presented a donation of $200,000 (more than 140,000 euros) for victims of terrible floods due to heavy rain in the country and visited a home for children with cancer during her trip to Bogota as a Director of Social and Cultural Projects MAPFRE Foundation.
The Infanta, the MAPFRE Foundation and the Spanish royal family could not forget to reach out to Colombia in these difficult times. The Duchess of Lugo arrived at the capital, Bogota, last May 12th as with Fernando Garrido, director of the Institute of Social Action, to bring hope to the Latin American country. There have been rumours in the Iberian country that Elena and Fernando have been dating for a little while.
Infanta Elena did a lot during her small trip: she paid a visit to the Dharma Foundation - hey... did you just think about the series Lost here? - a home for children with cancer, had a meeting with the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos and his wife, María Clemencia Rodríguez, at the Palacio de Nariño. The princess gave the Colombian president, in the presence of First Lady, a donation of $ 200,000 (about 140,000 euros) under the Humanitarian Colombia campaign, which aims to raise funds for victims of the floods.
Upon receipt of resources, María Clemencia appreciated the support that the Infanta has always provided the country, especially in difficult times that Colombia has faced as a result of climate change. "Doña Elena, once again, thank you very much. Thank you very much because we feel your continuing solidarity in difficult times in Colombia, "said the wife of President Santos.

Charlotte Casiraghi participating in the Global Champions Tour in Valencia, Spain
We just saw Infanta Elena and her daughter Doña Victoria Federica participating in this very same competition. Today, we caught upon a few shots of Charlotte Casiraghi competing, along with the Infanta and famous horseback rider, Athina Onassis Roussel de Miranda (whatever she calls herself these days).

[Spain] Infanta Elena transmits her daughter Victoria Federica her passion for horseback riding
The King and Queen of Spain's eldest daughter finished number 14 out of 30 participants in a test for the Global Champions Tour of Valencia. Infanta Elena is spending her weekend following one of her greatest passions: horseback riding. She participated in amateur tests for the third edition of the Global Champions Tour (GCT) which started in Valencia on Thursday and will be ending this Sunday.
After competing last week in the National Contest of Badajoz, the Infanta arrived yesterday to the city of Turia with her daughter Doña Victoria Federica who has inherited her mother's passion for horses. But this time, unlike last September in the Madrid equestrian competition, we could not see her horseback riding. The Duchess of Lugo's daughter chose to go and pamper the horse that competed with Infanta Elena instead.
The arrival in Valencia of Doña Elena was scheduled for Saturday. At eleven o'clock the eldest daughter of the King had participated in a test of the competition, two-star category, with progressive difficulties and obstacles of 1.25 meters. The Princess has 53 points and finished in 81.15 seconds after Qantas, her horse, touched the fourth obstacle and refused to jump the eighth.
Elena was one of the last amazon to leave the track for this Trophy City of Arts and Sciences. Nevertheless, she finally managed to finish in 14th among a total of 30 participants. The winner of the test was the young Catalan rider Charles Villarrubia (65 points, 45.13 seconds).
After the competition, Infanta Elena left her role as a rider to enjoy another of her life pleasures: being a mother as she and her daughter showed a lot of affection in each others arms.
The last time Infanta Elena was publicly seen with her two children was last Christmas. Her son, Don Felipe is studying in a boarding school in England but coinciding with school holidays, Felipe often travels back to Madrid.
At age 47, Elena has an amazing figure, doesn't she?

[One photo per day] [4] Princess Letizia, with her sister-in-law and niece, Infanta Elena & Victoria Federica
This photo was taken last week in Madrid, Spain at the Zarzuela Theatre. Here we can see Princess Letizia of Asturias in the back, holding hands with Doña Victoria Federica who is also holding hands with her mom, Infanta Elena. On the fashion side, it wasn't the first time we saw Letizia with this outfit. Nice to notice that even if you are royalty, you can repeat your clothing.
Okay, shallow comments aside, nice to see Victoria Federica. She will be 10 tomorrow, September 9th. She is so big and beautiful! Hope she and her older brother Felipe are dealing well with their parents divorce, since Infanta Elena and Jaime de Marichalar divorced a year ago. And it is always nice to see in-laws have a nice casual time together. By the way, they went to watch the SWAN LAKE ballet!

[Princess Victoria & Daniel Westling's Wedding] Infanta Elena, Infanta Cristina and husband Iñaki
I still have a couple of pictures from the guests who attended Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Daniel of Sweden's wedding.
Here, the Duques of Palma de Mallorca - Infanta Cristina and her husband, Iñaki - and her sister, Infanta Elena.
Infanta Elena attended the event alone as she recently divorced her husband. But it didn't prevent her from doing a bold fashion statement wearing a almost flashy pink dress with a Torero-like bolero that was outstanding. People might like it (or hate it) but there is nothing like being different, having a different style and stand out in the crowd of boredom.
On the other side, her sister Infanta Cristina was a classic Greek goddess, preferring a light green draping to the classic white one. Congrats to both sisters.

I have to be honest: these kind of photos are the exact reason why I love royalty. I used to gather, as a little girl, all the photos I could of several royal members from different houses and loved to see them together. "As if" they were normal people that had to be meet for special reasons, but still, with space to be human, friendly and kind-of down to earth. I hope I will find many more photos like these in the future.
